How do I navigate Inly?

Learn how to get around the site

Written by Inly Team

Everything in Inly is reached from the sidebar on the left of your screen. This article goes through each sidebar button from top to bottom, and the tabs you'll find on each page.

Create (purple + button)

The purple + at the top of the sidebar is the quickest way to start something new. It opens What would you like to create? Pick one document, or pick several to bundle them into a single workflow (a flow) for one client.

Option

What it creates

Proposal

A quote where your client can choose packages, products, or services

Invoice

A bill your client can pay online by card, ACH, or offline

Contract

A digital contract your client signs online

Form

A questionnaire you send to a client to fill in

Automation

A follow-up email that sends itself on a schedule

Contact Form

A form you embed on your website so new leads can reach you

Click Start with a template to start from something you've already built. To make a reusable template instead of a one-off document, use the link to your Templates Library at the bottom of the page.

Search (magnifying glass)

Click the magnifying glass to search all of Inly at once. Type a client's name, an invoice number or a project name, and results appear grouped by type: Payments, Invoices, Clients, Contracts, Forms and Flows. Each result shows its status, such as Succeeded, Unpaid, Active or Draft. Click a result to open it, or press Esc to close search.

Home (house)

Home is your dashboard: summary cards for leads, clients, events and bookings, your to-do list, your next payout and a revenue chart. See Understanding my dashboard for a full walkthrough.

Documents (folder)

Documents holds everything you send to clients. Its own menu has seven pages: Flows, then one page for each document type. Each page has a New button at the top to create that type of document.

Flows

A flow is a bundle of documents for one client, such as a proposal, a contract and an invoice sent together. Each flow shows the client and the documents inside it.

Tab

What's in it

Active

Flows you've sent that your client is still working through

Scheduled

Flows set to send automatically on a future date

Recurring

Recurring invoices, with each one's amount, frequency, billing day, next invoice date and status

Complete

Flows your client has finished, with the date they were completed

Draft

Flows you've started but haven't sent yet

Archived

Old flows you've put away to keep your lists tidy

Proposals

Every proposal you've sent, with its client, flow and status. Tabs: Active (waiting for your client to choose and accept), Complete (accepted) and Expired (passed their expiry date without being accepted).

Invoices

Your invoices and their payment status. Tabs: Active (sent and still waiting for payment) and Complete (paid in full).

Contracts

Each contract's client, flow, title, number of signatures and status. Tabs: Active (waiting for one or more signatures), Complete (signed by everyone) and Void (cancelled contracts that no longer apply).

Forms

Questionnaires you've sent to clients, with the date each was sent. Tabs: Active (sent but not filled in yet) and Complete (your client has submitted it).

Automations

Follow-up emails that send themselves, such as payment reminders or check-ins.

Tab

What's in it

Queued

Follow-ups waiting to send on their scheduled date

Sent

Follow-ups that have gone out to your client

Completed

Follow-ups whose job is done, for example because the client has replied, paid or signed

Archived

Follow-ups you've switched off or put away

Contact Forms

The forms you embed on your website so potential clients can get in touch. Each one shows its name, the field types it asks for (for example name, email, phone and event date) and how many fields it has. New submissions appear as leads on your Clients page.

Schedulers (clock)

Schedulers are your booking pages. Share a scheduler's link and clients can pick a time for a call, session or appointment without emailing back and forth. Click New Scheduler to set one up.

Payments (cash)

Payments is where you follow the money: what clients owe, what they've paid and when it reaches your bank. Its menu has four pages.

Payments

Every invoice payment, with its client, invoice number, flow, amount and status.

Tab

What's in it

Unpaid

Payments that are due but haven't been made yet

Paid

Payments you've received, with the date each was paid

Pending

Payments on their way, such as ACH transfers still processing or checks your client has marked as sent

Overdue

Payments past their due date. Send your client a reminder from here or from your dashboard

Orders

Orders your clients have placed with you. Tabs: Open (still to be delivered) and Fulfilled (delivered and done).

Refunds

Any refunds you've given, with the client and flow each one belongs to.

Payouts

Transfers of your Inly earnings to your bank account. Each payout shows the date it arrived, the last four digits of the account it went to, the total and its status.

Clients (person)

Clients is your contact list. Each person shows their name, email, business, the date they were added and their status. Click New Client (or New Lead on the Leads tab) to add someone yourself.

Tab

What's in it

Active

Clients you're currently working with

Inactive

Past clients you're not working with right now

Leads

Potential clients who haven't booked yet, including people who filled in one of your contact forms

Click anyone in the list to open their profile and see all their flows, documents and payments in one place.

Messages (speech bubble)

Messages is your inbox for client emails. On the left is a list of conversations, newest first, showing each client's name, the date and a preview of the last message. Click one to open it.

An open conversation shows more than emails. It's a timeline of everything that's happened with that client: documents you sent, when they viewed them, payments marked as paid and every reply in between. Write your reply at the bottom.

Calendar

The Calendar shows a month at a time, with your events, booked appointments and payment due dates on the days they happen. Payments show their amount, and the total due for the month appears next to the month's name.

  • Use the arrows to move between months, or click Today to jump back to the current month.

  • Click New Event to add something to your calendar yourself.

  • Click any event or payment to open it.

If you've connected Google Calendar (under Account > Business Settings > Integrations), your Inly events sync there too.

Account (your initials)

Click your initials at the bottom of the sidebar to open your settings. Your plan (for example PRO) shows under your initials. The Account menu has these pages:

My Account

  • User Profile: Your first name, last name and the email you log in with.

  • Password & Security: Change your password, and turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) so you need a code from an authenticator app each time you sign in.
