What is this?
Inly's AI connector lets you run your business by talking to your favorite AI assistant. Connect Claude, ChatGPT, OpenAI Codex, or Grok to Inly and ask it to look up clients, create and send invoices and contracts, check payments and bookings, and pull reports — all in plain language, scoped to your own business. It's included free with your Inly subscription.
What you can do
Clients & CRM — look up, search, create, and update clients; read a client's message history
Proposals, contracts & invoices — create a flow, preview it, and send it to a client
Payments & bookings — list payments, outstanding balances, and upcoming bookings
Tasks & notes — create and complete tasks, add notes to clients
Messaging — send a client a message (it always asks you first)
Reports — revenue, pipeline, and outstanding A/R
Example prompts: "List my overdue invoices," "Draft and send Jane her contract," "What bookings do I have this week?"
The server address
Whenever an app asks for a custom MCP server URL, use:
https://api.inly.com/mcp
Where to find your API key (Codex)
Some setups use an API key instead of signing in. To get yours, open Inly and go to Settings → Business → Integrations, open any AI card, then generate and copy your key. Treat it like a password — it provides access to your account.
Claude
In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, paste https://api.inly.com/mcp, keep authentication on OAuth, then sign in to Inly and click Allow. Then try: "List my Inly clients."
ChatGPT
In ChatGPT, go to Plugins → Add → Add custom MCP server.
Name it Inly, set Connection to Server URL, and paste
https://api.inly.com/mcp.Set Authentication to OAuth, then click Create as a plugin.
Sign in to Inly and click Allow.
If it doesn't connect on the first try, delete the plugin and add it again.
OpenAI Codex (CLI)
In your terminal, run this (replace YOUR_KEY with your Inly API key):
codex mcp add inly -- npx -y mcp-remote https://api.inly.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY"
Or add this to ~/.codex/config.toml:
[mcp_servers.inly] command = "npx" args = ["-y", "mcp-remote", "https://api.inly.com/mcp", "--header", "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY"]
Grok
Grok Bot (the agent app): in any bot's chat, type "Add this MCP server: https://api.inly.com/mcp". When it reads the name and URL back, reply "Yes, add it," then click Authorize, sign in to Inly, and click Allow.
Grok on the web (grok.com): go to Settings → Connectors → New → Custom, paste https://api.inly.com/mcp, and sign in with OAuth.
Security & privacy
You sign in with your own Inly account — there's no key or password to hand the AI.
Everything is scoped to your business only; no other business's data is accessible.
Actions that reach your clients (like sending a message or invoice) ask for your confirmation first.
You can disconnect at any time from the AI app's connector settings.
