Meeting bookings vs. Service Session bookings

Discover which type of scheduler you want to create

Written by Inly Team

Inly offers two ways for clients to book time with you. They both appear on your calendar, but each serves a different purpose.

Meeting bookings

A meeting booking is a time slot that someone reserves with you or a member of your team, such as a consultation, a check-in call, or an intro chat.

  • It’s free and has no attached service details.

  • Use it when someone just needs time with you.

Service session bookings

A service session booking reserves a place in a specific service you offer. We have template for Mini Sessions for photography services or you can start from scratch to customize what you offer.

  • It’s tied to a service with set details like duration, price, and provider.

  • It can require payment at the time of booking or at time of service.

  • You customize all your payment settings for the service.

Which one should I use?

If the booking is about talking with someone, use a meeting booking. If it’s about providing a service, use a service session booking.

Remember that for both:

  • You can set your availability and add or block specific dates.

  • Create and customize reminder and confirmation emails.

  • You can customize landing pages with images, text, and branding.
