If you have work that you want to bill a set amount for on a regular basis, you can use Inly to set up a recurring charge and send invoices automatically. Each time a bill is sent, a new invoice for the same charges, but with a unique invoice number, will be generated.
First, get started by creating a invoice. If you need help with that, follow steps 1-11 as we laid out in How do I Create and Send an Invoice?
Once you get to the page titled "Create a payment schedule," click on "Set As Recurring."
This will open a modal window that allows you to choose how often you want the invoices to recur. Click on the box under "Frequency" to open a selection of default frequencies. The date you are creating the invoice will be the default starting point.
Click on the box under "End Date" to open a calendar drop down to choose the date that you want the recurring invoices to end.
To further customize the frequency, in the drop down list under "Frequency," click "Custom."
This will extend the window to give you move frequency options.
Under "Repeat every," you can customize the frequency. You can choose the time length unit (day, week, month, or year) and the number of those that you want to pass between invoices.
For example, if you wanted to send out an invoice every 6 months, you would type in "6" under "Repeat every" and choose "month(s)."
You can also customize when you want your recurring invoices to end. Under "End," you can choose "Never" if you want the invoices to continue forever under you choose to manually end them at a later date. You can always come back later and edit the Invoice to choose an end date for this recurring invoice via this same process.
You can choose "On" and then click in the box next to it to select a calendar date for the invoices to end on. Finally, you can choose "After" and enter a given number of occurrences.
If you choose "After," Inly will automatically generate and display the end date.
After you have created the frequency you want, click "Save." The modal window will close and you'll be back on the scheduling page, with a summary of your new invoice schedule.
After this, you can proceed with the rest of your invoice creation as normal.
